Are You About to Clean Up Your Holiday Messes With Chemicals Toxic to Your Health?

Are You About to Clean Up Your Holiday Messes With Chemicals Toxic to Your Health? The holidays are here and as fun as they promise to be, there’s likely to be a big mess that follows. But not only do you want to be spending quality time with your family, you don’t want to waste it scrubbing spills and buildup while breathing in harsh and toxic chemicals.
You may not know it but there are many dangerous poisons lurking in some of your most commonly used household items. In America, we consume so many products without ever knowing what the real ingredients are.
Below, is a quick list of the most common places you’ll find toxic ingredients. Then at the end, we’ll share with you some better, safer and much healthier options that you can use in confidence.

Room Air Fresheners

I never allow artificial air fresheners in my home. Anything you breathe in eventually ends up in your bloodstream. Plug-in scents or synthetically scented candles many contain chemicals called phthalates, which have been linked to reproductive problems. Instead, choose candles made with essential oils and fresh flowers to scent your home. Also,  try using baking soda and white vinegar as odor absorbers.

Perfumes and Fragrances

The one-word ingredient “perfume” can translate to a product containing upwards of 300 chemical ingredients. (Perfume companies won’t release lists of exact ingredients for fear of divulging secrets to their competitors.) Avoid perfumes and colognes or switch to products that are scented with natural oils.

Fabric and Upholstery Sprays

Stain blockers essentially create an invisible plastic barrier over your furniture. This plastic will eventually wear off and be released into your home environment. Instead, simply clean stains as necessary rather than trying to prevent them.

Kitchen Cleaning products

Check the labels of cleaning products for chemical ingredients such as phthalates and chemical surfactants. These ingredients are not only dangerous to your home, but to your skin and lungs too!

Stay Healthy During the Holiday Season with These Natural and Delicious Tips

Stay Healthy During the Holiday Season with These Natural and Delicious TipsIt’s hard to stay healthy during the holidays with all the sweets and treats around. But one way to make more good choices is by starting your day with them. If you start your day healthy, you feel good and when you feel good, you want to do more things to keep feeling good.
One way to do this is through the power of the green smoothie. We work hard to keep our homes clean, but it’s important to be just as devoted to keeping our bodies clean and strong.
Green smoothies are surprisingly easy to make, delicious and come with tons of benefits. Don’t know the benefits? Here are just a few:
More energy.  If you start the day with a green smoothie you will notice a massive increase in the amount of energy you have.

Weight loss.  Increasing the number of fruit and vegetables you eat in a day gives you body an opportunity to shed excess fat and water weight built up from toxins stored in the body.

Reduce junk food cravings: When you increase the amount of healthy foods in your diet and decrease the unhealthy foods you will naturally stop craving junk food and crave more of the same healthy food.  You may find yourself adding more fruit during the day when you start eating more healthily.
Better skin: The increased fluids and power of natural foods in your diet will hydrate your skin and reduce your wrinkles and improve acne problems making you look younger.
Boost immune system: Incorporating green smoothies into your diet will help boost your resistance to colds, flu and other bugs and feel generally amazing. After having a cold or the flu all winter long, I didn’t have a single bug for 3 years after introducing green smoothies to my diet.
Improve your digestion: enjoy the detox and get your intestines off to a flying start today. Chronic IBS has been known to clear up after these changes in diet occur.  One thing is for sure, a green smoothie is guaranteed to get everything moving in the morning.
One of the simplest ways to make a green smoothie is by putting the following base recipe into your favorite blender:
  • Stay Healthy During the Holiday Season with These Natural and Delicious Tips8-12 oz water
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • ½ cup chopped kale
  • ½ squeezed lemon
  • 2 bananas
  • Any other fruit you feel like adding! Some ideas would include 1 orange, 1 pear, 1 cup of berries and even ½ an inch of ginger if you’d like an extra kick!
As you can see, it’s easy and comes with so many benefits. Counter the sugar of the holidays with the minerals, fiber and nutrients of the green smoothie. You’ll feel great and won’t regret it for a minute.
At Bayes, we’re committed to your health. We believe and advocate for green cleaning and also green living. Join us. Care for your home, your health and for the planet.

Two MUST HAVES You Need to Keep Your Home Clean and Protected During the Holidays!

It’s the beginning of the cold and rainy season. Family will begin to gather more and visitors will enter your home with wet shoes and clothes and you’re going to have to keep a close eye on your floors and furniture! If not, the water and dirt will make it’s way into the creases and porous spaces, leading to cracking, water damage, buildup and staining.

You don’t need these little nuances creeping in and destroying your home when you’re busy having fun. What you do need is to have a situational and preventative solution that not only cleans your home and furnishings quickly, but also protects it from future damage and soiling.

We at Bayes, have that solution! With our organic cleaning products, you can now clean, protect and lengthen the life of your home furniture without the use of harsh chemicals that are not only damaging to your furniture, but also to your health and the environment. All of our products are highly effective, environmentally responsible and safe for use in the home for the family, pets, plants and leather, microfiber and other multi-surfaces.

One option is The Wine Stomper Red Wine Stain Remover. This one is great for holiday meals and gatherings, as spills do happen and you don’t need them ruining your floor, furniture or table coverings! This Red Wine Stain Remover quickly removes red wine, juice, blood, and other dark stains from clothing, table linen, carpets and upholstery. Packaged in a handy spray bottle for instant use wherever spills occur. Simply spray soiled area, wait a few minutes, and blot clean.

The next product we want to recommend is our Fabric Protectant. Bayes Fabric Protectant is safe to use indoors, yet provides maximum protection under extreme outdoor conditions and contains a special advanced polymer designed to repel both oil and water-borne stains from fabric. This is important in household environments where both water-borne stains (fruit juice, wine, soft drinks) and oil-borne stains (margarine, mayonnaise, ice cream) are present. Commonly used silicone based repellents are effective only against water-borne stains.

At Bayes, we pride ourselves on our commitment to taking care of the environment as well as family health in every home. We hope you get as excited about this as we do. Take a moment now, to see what other wonderful products we have available to pamper your home!

5 Simple and Nurturing Ways to Minimize Thanksgiving Stress!

5 Simple and Nurturing Ways to Minimize Thanksgiving Stress! As much as we all love to celebrate with loved ones, what do we do with the stress that comes with hosting or even contributing to a holiday dinner. But the stress can be avoided with careful planning and consideration of everyone's needs, not neglecting your own.  At Bayes, we highly value the health of your home and family, and stress management should definitely not be forgotten.
So here are 5 simple and nurturing ways to minimize Thanksgiving stress:
Create a Game Plan.
Don't wait until the last minute to do your shopping. You run the risk of getting stuck in crowds and not being able to get the items you need. Because you're planning ahead, you'll probably purchase a frozen turkey. Remember that depending upon the weight, a turkey can take up to five days to thaw in the refrigerator. Give yourself and your bird enough time to reduce this possible stressor.
Prepare Your Space Ahead of Time.
When you're cooking a meal to this magnitude, you're going to need extra space in the fridge and on the counters. Take this opportunity to do a little "fall cleaning" and pitch old condiments, leftovers and other items you don't need in the fridge.
Delegate Tasks
A good head chef knows that a strong team is needed to achieve good service. You're no different. Assign duties to family members you know will want to help. Whether it be bringing a side dish, watching the little ones so they aren't underfoot while you're cooking, or simply setting the table, the list of ways others can bring relief to the day is endless.
Get Enough Sleep.
It might seem counter intuitive, but making sure you get enough sleep can help combat the additional stress you may be under. Don't vary your sleeping schedule. Simply plan around it so your body remains in its natural rhythm. While you may have to get up a bit early on Thanksgiving Day to get the turkey in the oven, if you're well-rested from the previous nights, it won't take as much of a toll on you.
Prioritize
Remember what's important. Take time out to enjoy the day and have some fun. Start a new tradition of playing a game, telling favorite jokes or simply taking a walk together as a family. While the meal may seem like the big part of the day, the most important part is spending time with your loved ones and giving thanks for all you have.
Your emotional and mental health care should be at the top of your list when striving to live consciously and in a naturally healthy way. We are here to support you in the big and little ways we can. This is why we've developed a line of organic cleaning supplies meant to deeply clean, condition and care for your home and kitchen.
This Thanksgiving, take care of yourself in the best ways possible. From us at Bayes, to you,
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:

The holidays coming, for many, mean a lot of hosting and entertaining. Make sure you're prepared for a holiday of family, friends and food without the added stress or concerns. After all, the host should be able to relax as well, not just cook and clean and maintain chaos!

Be Oven Ready
Make sure your oven is ready for the marathon of baking about to take place! Wait until after the big feast to do any deep cleaning in the oven. You don't want to exhaust the appliance and have it burn out before the pies are complete! Rather, give it a thorough manual wipe down beforehand with your best non-toxic cleaner. After all, we don't any toxic residue to be baked and absorbed into the mushroom green bean casserole!

Clean the Refrigerator
Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:The fridge can be quite a treasure chest of old and forgotten food. Take this week to compost produce gone bad, consume leftovers and give the shelves and drawers the cleaning they deserve. Not only will you have a better idea of what is needed to purchase before the big day, but you'll also have the room to store both ingredients, finished dishes and the leftovers that will follow!

Checklist Your Spices
We can run out of or be low on our most common spices and then find we don't have them when we need them. And who wants to rush off to the store for a container of cloves the morning of thanksgiving? Since we'd rather avoid the rush of that crowd, let's be prepared. Go through your spice rack and take inventory. Throw out what's old and make a list of what needs to be restocked. You'll be so happy you did.

Prepare to clean
Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:We love our granite counter tops. It's great to toss the common cutting boards and chopping blocks and know that we have so much counter space to slice, dice and prepare our beloved feast. But all that cutting and temperature change will add up. So it's good to be prepared with your own bottle of Bayes Organic Granite Counter Top Cleaner and Conditioner. You decided to get those granite counter tops for a reason, so use them well but remember to care for them too!

We hope your Thanksgiving feast is one to remember... for the beauty and not the craziness! Please stop by Bayes and see how you have more organic products to be thankful for this year! Have a wonderful holiday.
