Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!

Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!Thanksgiving is coming. Let the preparations begin proper cleaning of both your food and the food prep spaces.

One thing we at Bayes believe you should be prepared for is the cleaning and safety of your fruits and vegetables. You might be surprised at the amount of germs and generally unclean material is on those fresh vegetables and fruits actually comes off when you simply rinse or rub them under running water. Whether or not you choose to buy organic produce, it’s still very important to wash them well before consuming them. Fertilizers, animals, and unhealthy soil  and pollutants in the air can still contaminate your food. Then, once you've bought or picked your fruits and veggies, you bring them in the kitchen and excitedly place them on the counter, right? Then, all those nasty extras also end up on your counter!

Thanks to Organic Authority, we have a simple 2 ingredient fruit and vegetable wash you can make yourself!

Two-Ingredient Fruit and Vegetable Wash Recipe
Makes 2 cups
Ingredients:
Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!Directions: Make a solution that is one part water and one part vinegar. Mix and then pour into an empty clean spray bottle. Spray on hard-surfaced fruits and vegetables and scrub lightly. Rinse thoroughly until the vinegar aroma is gone. For more delicate fruits and vegetables, pour the same 1:1 solution into a bowl. Add the berries, lettuce or whatever it may be and let sit for a few minutes. Rinse well before eating.
The next important thing to care for is those counters! They are where we are going to prepare our food (you don’t want new contaminates!) and it’s just as important to make sure those spaces are properly cleaned after you’ve made your meal, to ensure that any and all bacteria is quickly disposed of. What’s the best tool for the job?

Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips!

Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips! The holidays are just around the corner and we hope you’re going to make a mess. This is a time for family to gather, for kids to see grandparents for food to be enjoyed and for gratitude to spread. The last thing you need to care about is the mess that’s happening.

It happens every year. You’re excited to have the family over, the turkey has been bought and dressed, dessert is in the oven, and then you look around and realize the mess that awaits you. You don’t have time for that and we believe you deserve to enjoy more of the holiday. We have a few tips to help you have a stress free kitchen this Thanksgiving so you can have more fun no matter the mess.

  1. Clean as you go. As things are simmering or baking, condense the mess.
  2. Have separate containers for food scraps, garbage and recycling, making sure to use a compostable bag for the food scraps. This keeps things organized and not overflowing.
  3. Label those containers with little pictures above them on the wall so that all of your guests know where to put what.
  4. Have a sink full of water waiting for used dishes. This way the food doesn’t have a chance to stick!
  5. Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips!Be armed and ready with Bayes Stainless Steel Cleaner.  Not only will it help you clean the toughest kitchen messes, but it leaves behind a non-toxic surface protectant to keep future messes easy to clean!  Many household cleaners are not only toxic to touch and breathe in, but also contain abrasive and corrosive substances that can permanently damage your appliances. This cleaner not only takes care of the dirty work for you, but prevents it from attacking in the future!

With the holidays only weeks away, be sure to grab a bottle or two now - this way, you’ll not only be prepared, but you’ll have a chance to use it sooner and start building that protective layer!

This Thanksgiving, let go and have fun. It’s time to bond with your family and reflect on the good in
your life. Eat, drink, drink, be merry and leave the dirty work to Bayes!
