Two MUST HAVES You Need to Keep Your Home Clean and Protected During the Holidays!

It’s the beginning of the cold and rainy season. Family will begin to gather more and visitors will enter your home with wet shoes and clothes and you’re going to have to keep a close eye on your floors and furniture! If not, the water and dirt will make it’s way into the creases and porous spaces, leading to cracking, water damage, buildup and staining.

You don’t need these little nuances creeping in and destroying your home when you’re busy having fun. What you do need is to have a situational and preventative solution that not only cleans your home and furnishings quickly, but also protects it from future damage and soiling.

We at Bayes, have that solution! With our organic cleaning products, you can now clean, protect and lengthen the life of your home furniture without the use of harsh chemicals that are not only damaging to your furniture, but also to your health and the environment. All of our products are highly effective, environmentally responsible and safe for use in the home for the family, pets, plants and leather, microfiber and other multi-surfaces.

One option is The Wine Stomper Red Wine Stain Remover. This one is great for holiday meals and gatherings, as spills do happen and you don’t need them ruining your floor, furniture or table coverings! This Red Wine Stain Remover quickly removes red wine, juice, blood, and other dark stains from clothing, table linen, carpets and upholstery. Packaged in a handy spray bottle for instant use wherever spills occur. Simply spray soiled area, wait a few minutes, and blot clean.

The next product we want to recommend is our Fabric Protectant. Bayes Fabric Protectant is safe to use indoors, yet provides maximum protection under extreme outdoor conditions and contains a special advanced polymer designed to repel both oil and water-borne stains from fabric. This is important in household environments where both water-borne stains (fruit juice, wine, soft drinks) and oil-borne stains (margarine, mayonnaise, ice cream) are present. Commonly used silicone based repellents are effective only against water-borne stains.

At Bayes, we pride ourselves on our commitment to taking care of the environment as well as family health in every home. We hope you get as excited about this as we do. Take a moment now, to see what other wonderful products we have available to pamper your home!

Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!

Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!Thanksgiving is coming. Let the preparations begin proper cleaning of both your food and the food prep spaces.

One thing we at Bayes believe you should be prepared for is the cleaning and safety of your fruits and vegetables. You might be surprised at the amount of germs and generally unclean material is on those fresh vegetables and fruits actually comes off when you simply rinse or rub them under running water. Whether or not you choose to buy organic produce, it’s still very important to wash them well before consuming them. Fertilizers, animals, and unhealthy soil  and pollutants in the air can still contaminate your food. Then, once you've bought or picked your fruits and veggies, you bring them in the kitchen and excitedly place them on the counter, right? Then, all those nasty extras also end up on your counter!

Thanks to Organic Authority, we have a simple 2 ingredient fruit and vegetable wash you can make yourself!

Two-Ingredient Fruit and Vegetable Wash Recipe
Makes 2 cups
Ingredients:
Be Safe This Thanksgiving and Avoid Dangerous Bacteria with These Important Tips!Directions: Make a solution that is one part water and one part vinegar. Mix and then pour into an empty clean spray bottle. Spray on hard-surfaced fruits and vegetables and scrub lightly. Rinse thoroughly until the vinegar aroma is gone. For more delicate fruits and vegetables, pour the same 1:1 solution into a bowl. Add the berries, lettuce or whatever it may be and let sit for a few minutes. Rinse well before eating.
The next important thing to care for is those counters! They are where we are going to prepare our food (you don’t want new contaminates!) and it’s just as important to make sure those spaces are properly cleaned after you’ve made your meal, to ensure that any and all bacteria is quickly disposed of. What’s the best tool for the job?

Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips!

Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips! The holidays are just around the corner and we hope you’re going to make a mess. This is a time for family to gather, for kids to see grandparents for food to be enjoyed and for gratitude to spread. The last thing you need to care about is the mess that’s happening.

It happens every year. You’re excited to have the family over, the turkey has been bought and dressed, dessert is in the oven, and then you look around and realize the mess that awaits you. You don’t have time for that and we believe you deserve to enjoy more of the holiday. We have a few tips to help you have a stress free kitchen this Thanksgiving so you can have more fun no matter the mess.

  1. Clean as you go. As things are simmering or baking, condense the mess.
  2. Have separate containers for food scraps, garbage and recycling, making sure to use a compostable bag for the food scraps. This keeps things organized and not overflowing.
  3. Label those containers with little pictures above them on the wall so that all of your guests know where to put what.
  4. Have a sink full of water waiting for used dishes. This way the food doesn’t have a chance to stick!
  5. Keep Thanksgiving Cleaning Easy and Save Your Kitchen Appliances with These Important Tips!Be armed and ready with Bayes Stainless Steel Cleaner.  Not only will it help you clean the toughest kitchen messes, but it leaves behind a non-toxic surface protectant to keep future messes easy to clean!  Many household cleaners are not only toxic to touch and breathe in, but also contain abrasive and corrosive substances that can permanently damage your appliances. This cleaner not only takes care of the dirty work for you, but prevents it from attacking in the future!

With the holidays only weeks away, be sure to grab a bottle or two now - this way, you’ll not only be prepared, but you’ll have a chance to use it sooner and start building that protective layer!

This Thanksgiving, let go and have fun. It’s time to bond with your family and reflect on the good in
your life. Eat, drink, drink, be merry and leave the dirty work to Bayes!

7 Family Friendly Tips for a Green Thanksgiving

not use this as a chance to create your own family traditions and pass on the sustainable andThanksgiving is a well known American holiday based on tradition and togetherness. Why not use this as a chance to create your own family traditions and pass on the sustainable and earth friendly values with your own family?  Traditions start in the home. They start with you.  Here are seven family friendly tips for a green Thanksgiving.

RRR
To make your Thanksgiving celebration as green as possible, start with "Reduce, Reuse & Recycle!"  You can reduce the amount of waste you produce by buying only as much as you need and choosing products that come in packaging that can be recycled. Carry reusable bags when you do your shopping, and use cloth napkins that can be washed and used again. Recycle and compost all leftovers. Many things can be reused or put into use for the following seasons! Think ahead.
Buy and Eat Local
Buying only locally grown food is one good way to have a green Thanksgiving. Locally grown food is good for your table, your health and the environment. Locally grown food tastes better than food that has to be grown and packaged for maximum shelf life, and it requires less fuel to reach store shelves. Locally grown food also contributes more to your local economy, supporting local farmers as well as local merchants.
Choose Organic
Using only organic food for your feast is another good green Thanksgiving strategy. Organic fruits, vegetables and grains are grown without chemical pesticides and fertilizers; organic meat is produced without antibiotics and artificial hormones. The result is food that is better for your health and good for the environment. Organic farming also produces higher yields, increases soil fertility, prevents erosion, and is more cost-effective for farmers.
Plant a Tree
Trees absorb carbon dioxide—a greenhouse gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect and global warming—and give off oxygen in return. Planting one tree may not seem to make much difference in the face of global climate change, but small things do matter. In one year, the average tree absorbs roughly 26 pounds of carbon dioxide and returns enough oxygen to supply a family of four.
Make Your Own Decorations
With a few simple supplies and a little imagination, you can make great eco-friendly Thanksgiving decorations and have a lot of fun in the process. Colored construction paper can be cut or folded into simple Pilgrim, turkey and harvest decorations. You can also make your own clay and then shape and mold it into acorns, pumpkins or other holiday symbols.
Bring in the Spiritual Side
The Pilgrims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving fled religious persecution in Europe to seek a better life in America. The Thanksgiving holiday was established to provide a national day for all Americans to give thanks. Even if you follow no particular religion, however, Thanksgiving is a good time to count your blessings, beginning with the many ways the natural environment sustains and enriches our lives. As part of your green Thanksgiving, make time for prayer, meditation, reflection, or perhaps just a walk in the woods to contemplate and give thanks for the wonders of nature.
Say Thank You
In the end, whatever you do on Thanksgiving, be sure you take the time to say thank you and set your heart to an intention of gratitude. Make this a time to say thank you to the people in your life who matter most and, if possible, to spend time in their company. Life is short so make every moment count. If distance or circumstances don't allow you to spend Thanksgiving with your loved ones, be sure to find a way to be in touch with them to tell them why you are thankful to them and how they make your world a better place.

Bayes supports family and green living through our contribution of quality organic kitchen cleaning products, including our granite counter top cleaner.  (You may need a few bottles after this weeks festivities!)
From all of us to you, we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Thoughts: Simple Creative Ways To Practice Gratitude in Your Busy Life

Thanksgiving Thoughts: Simple Creative Ways To Practice Gratitude in Your Busy LifeThanksgiving is a time when the greenest of families should be gathering together in gratitude and togetherness. Gratitude is a big word, but a vital one for the growth of the heart.  In the light of the coming holiday and knowing our busy schedules, we want to share some simple ways to bring gratitude into your daily life and thoughts.

Developing your sense of gratitude isn't just a trend or a pop-psych fad. It's vital for your overall sense of well being and depth of your life quality.

The truth is, we could all use a little more tender care and grace. Through self love, self forgiveness, appreciation and extension of the same, our lives will feel more full and fluid. We cannot always control what happens around or to us, but we can control our response and perspective.

Thanks to the lovely people at Mind Body Green, we have a fantastic list to share with you, of 14 creative ways to practice gratitude in your every day life.

1. Write a handwritten letter to someone you've never properly thanked. Send by mail or hand-deliver; don't email.
2. Create An Appreciation Calendar. Each day, write five things you're grateful for and put it on a calendar.
3. Turn everything into a gift. Instead of your normal morning coffee, think of that cup as the gift of coffee. The gift of laughter. The gift of a smile.
4. Focus on something you're looking forward to and be grateful.
5. Say "I'm grateful for you," to everything you touch today.
6. Enjoy the little things. With a small task you do today, such as washing your hands or texting a friend, ask yourself how your life would be without it.
7. Look in the mirror and say, "I appreciate you," or, "I'm thankful for you."
8. Reach out to an author whose book has changed your life and share your gratitude in an email or letter.
9. Share a positive post on social media about a friend, company or product you truly love.
10. Spend five minutes with your hand on your heart, appreciating you and all of your hard work.
11. Donate your time or money to an organization or charity you believe in.
12. Make a list of ways you've impressed yourself lately. Think about what the challenges in your life have taught you. Be thankful for the blessing in the lesson.
13. Call your parents or children and tell them you appreciate them.
14. Send love to a force bigger than you, and give thanks to your higher power.
Your healthy life is our highest priority at Bayes.  Connect with those you love, including yourself today and practice these steps toward gratitude.  We also welcome you to stop by and enjoy the line of organic cleaning products we have to offer you.
Have a thankful day!

Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:

The holidays coming, for many, mean a lot of hosting and entertaining. Make sure you're prepared for a holiday of family, friends and food without the added stress or concerns. After all, the host should be able to relax as well, not just cook and clean and maintain chaos!

Be Oven Ready
Make sure your oven is ready for the marathon of baking about to take place! Wait until after the big feast to do any deep cleaning in the oven. You don't want to exhaust the appliance and have it burn out before the pies are complete! Rather, give it a thorough manual wipe down beforehand with your best non-toxic cleaner. After all, we don't any toxic residue to be baked and absorbed into the mushroom green bean casserole!

Clean the Refrigerator
Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:The fridge can be quite a treasure chest of old and forgotten food. Take this week to compost produce gone bad, consume leftovers and give the shelves and drawers the cleaning they deserve. Not only will you have a better idea of what is needed to purchase before the big day, but you'll also have the room to store both ingredients, finished dishes and the leftovers that will follow!

Checklist Your Spices
We can run out of or be low on our most common spices and then find we don't have them when we need them. And who wants to rush off to the store for a container of cloves the morning of thanksgiving? Since we'd rather avoid the rush of that crowd, let's be prepared. Go through your spice rack and take inventory. Throw out what's old and make a list of what needs to be restocked. You'll be so happy you did.

Prepare to clean
Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner? How to Have a Stress Free Kitchen this Holiday Season:We love our granite counter tops. It's great to toss the common cutting boards and chopping blocks and know that we have so much counter space to slice, dice and prepare our beloved feast. But all that cutting and temperature change will add up. So it's good to be prepared with your own bottle of Bayes Organic Granite Counter Top Cleaner and Conditioner. You decided to get those granite counter tops for a reason, so use them well but remember to care for them too!

We hope your Thanksgiving feast is one to remember... for the beauty and not the craziness! Please stop by Bayes and see how you have more organic products to be thankful for this year! Have a wonderful holiday.
