3. Beware of rug mats. Choosing the wrong under-the-rug mat can cause discoloration to your wood's finish.
4. Limit the sunlight. The sun can fade our floors just like with our clothes and furniture. Let the sun in, but during intense times. draw the shades.
5. Avoid sharp objects. This may seem obvious, but it's a common blunder. Keep pet nails trimmed and felt pads on the bottoms of furniture to avoid scratching in small or large ways!
